Granite checking-in 10:56pm

It's late and I'm tired and part of me just wants to put it off till tomorrow...

...but I choose to at least open my spread sheet and:

1) determine the oldest billing date needing to be completed

2) locate the paperwork for that billing date

3) lay it out on my desk with a clean folder to take with me to work

Those and then some...

I did stay up late, BUT it was all Totally prodcutively used!  I not only did  1-3, but I sorted 10 other dates and put all in their respective folders and made stick notes for the files that had more complicated issues to address!  Now they are primed to begin completion one billing date at a time starting tonight!

Yeah me!  Feels good!

Agnus checking in

Well, I spent half an hour crafting a nifty check-in and cyberspace just ate it!  So just to say: Missed you guys. Not sure why I left for awhile. Glad to be back.

Today's MIT is a business project due tomorrow. I also need to timely relay some incoming emails to others when they come in, eat sanely and on time, and be on time for a 7:30pm meeting.  I'll check back in before lunch to note my progress.

Journey 8:45

I was quite early to work today and have already been to the gym, read email, and checked my calendar.  Now time for coffee and todolist.

Yesterday, again, was just ok, I did work and I did work on the most important things but was easily distracted and didn't get as much done as I wanted.   Still it's a great improvement over last week so I'll take it!  I'm back in the office today so maybe I'll be more able to focus.

Just testing my new sig!

I've been in a slump for a few days and avoiding PA - just 'showing up' right now and hoping this will break the resistance a bit and I'll feel up to making a tasklist for tomorrow tonight.

I know this has happened because I pushed myself too hard. And that's great - instead of blaming myself for returning to my 'basic', 'inevitable' state of procrastination, I'm just learning the lesson and getting ready to try again with a bit more sleep and shorter tasklists this time. I'm also still incredibly impressed that I managed to do so well for so long. I was 'sober' for a while there. This is very hopeful.

I also want to work on overcoming the less obvious cousin of doing nothing... doing things really slowly :) Anyone else recognise this? As well as the periods of total 'paralysis', you have long periods when you drag and dawdle through tasks at half the speed you could. Net result: tasklist seems twice as overwhelming as it could, you fall behind, work all hours and lose sleep trying to catch up, and end up exhausted and 'paralysed' again.

Tasks inflate to match your idea of them, as if your subconscious is doing this on purpose to 'prove' that it's all too much and you can't cope. Rubbish! I'm going to do some thinking on how to break this cycle.
