Happy Wednesday

 

  1. Avoid Perfectionism: Procrastinators have
    a tendency to spend more time on a task than it warrants, so tasks that
    should be quick to do take an agonizingly long time. Notice this
    tendency and stop yourself. Some things require completion, not
    perfection.

 

So, this is the test of perfectionism for today... I found this pretty sparkly graphic and when I posted it into the box on here, I realized the day is spelled wrong! Oi. So, in effort to 'move' on instead of searching for a new one, I'm leaving it for all of you to enjoy. *LOL*

Haven't been able to check in for a few days because I've been too swamped. Just wanted to keep myself in the loop and say Hi to everyone!! HI!!

i'm way behind.

i so often forget to pray when i get down. but that helped today. It gave me the strength/perspective/motivation to come here.

Good morning all!

Yesterday was not a great day. I got some stuff done (lab meeting, experiment, started data analysis), but not as much as I had hoped. Today I got in a little late, and have taken my first 30 min in lab to do part of an experiment, check email, and talk to a labmate.

Today, I have scheduled: TA mtg  10:30-11:30, stats mtg 4:45-5:30

High priority tasks
*Some basic work on my experiments (done)
*Finish basic analysis of cyp data (computation for this is still running, but it should be no problem to get it done)
*Find articles on scientific networking (will do this soon)
*Call home (will do this after dancing)

Medium priority:
*Write thank you notes, mail letters (will do this soon)
*Figure out what's going on w/ RT, make a plan
*Swing dancing (will go to this around 8:30 or 9)
*Organize papers, lab nb (working on this now)

Low priority:
*Fix js validation
*Read a couple papers for meeting

OK, right now I'm going to take the next 10 min to pray about my task list and get set up for basic analysis of cyp data, then I'll go to TA mtg. After TA mtg, I'll do basic work on my experiments, have lunch, and finish basic analysis of cyp data. 

I'm going to keep a time log (starting now) to keep track of where my time is going.

2. will update another client website and business cards- Tuesday -did but still updating and waiting for client approval
3. will create an archieval information for another client- Tuesday
4. Billing for clients must be done -  TODAY
5. Client meeting - two logos get ready and sample websites  + Cancelled because my son is home sick

Home:
1. Read and doing - Self-Discipline in 10 days - Day 4 - Done
2. will do 4 loads of laundry and put them away - did two only yesterday - need to do 4 my son will help
3. Fill out form

School:
1. make 2 needed parent calls and a teacher call
2. Get ribbons for reflections winners

3. contact yearbook volunteers

Church:

1. get ready for craft for Wed.

Journey 7 am & update

Good morning!  Thanks for the "imperfect" day starter pros.  lol.

Yesterday was just ok.   I have gotten away from setting MITs for the day (Most Important Tasks) and although I worked pretty steadily yesterday except for one hour or so of drift, I did not work on my priorities but instead did a lot of busy work. 

I'm working from home today and starting off by getting on the treadmill then having a bath and a nice fruit smoothie.  I'll report back when I'm ready to get to work!

UPDATE 5 pm oops I didn't check back  but today's been a good day.  I took a break to put a nice beef stew on the stove and now back to work.

This late hour is the worst for me to procrastinate. In effort to make some use of this time, I figure I will start my to-do list for tomorrow. Perhaps it will motivate to do some of it before bed! Either way, at least it'll be partially up here before I wake up cuz I have a TON of stuff to do, I can't keep straight in my head and I don't want to forget. List is actually a mixture of stuff needing to be completed in the next few days, most deadlines are Friday. Anything I can complete before then would be awesome so trying to get full list on here now.

1) Call J and figure out if there's a time possible to meet (!)  -- EMAILED AT LEAST
