When we multiply tiny pieces of time with small increments of daily effort, we too will find we can accomplish magnificent things. We can change the world. ~ Unknown

Recycler CI 8:05pm

Hi Pro Buddies!

At the gym this morning I did my full cardio, stretching, and ab exercises.

This morning at work, I mostly followed my assignment list. At lunchtime, I bought another salad for lunch and ate, then spent some time in a quiet room. After lunch I followed up with another staff member, and got the information I needed for tomorrow. I made one more step of progress on the procrastinated personal project; at least two more steps to go, which is ok. After work, I came home & ate dinner.

Cleaning up status: during the last few weeks with traveling and all, I've washed & cleaned & straightened, but done the minimum. Today I have deliberately invited company for Saturday, to motivate me to do the rest, at least in the central rooms. Tonight after work I made some progress on one section.

Due to feeling happy, I was very tempted to go to a social event tonight. However it would mean staying out late on a work night, then having too many emotions to sleep, then not wanting to get up for the gym in the morning. I Really Need to go to the gym in the morning, and also to get a full night's sleep. Also even if I do One More Thing in the process of getting ready for Saturday, then I am making it easier for myself instead of harder. OK, I am thinking too much here; while I want to do one or two more things, I need to start winding down, brushing teeth, washing & moisturizing face, reading inspirational literature, etc.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

Agnus 6:15pm

I skipped check-in yesterday, no real reason. I think since my billable hours got cut (75%, ouch!), I am just not as freaked out about getting everything done.  I was billing 40 (at employer's request) but only doing 20-35 most weeks due to my health limitations; now I'm billing 12 and doing 20-30 a week.  My employer is aware of this so I'm actually feeling pretty good about that part.  Not feeling so good about the following tasks that I admit I am procrastinating:

  • new calls
  • dl calls
  • spreadsheet
  • scrapbook.

Now however, I need to make dinner and get to my OA meeting early. Goal is 7:15, so leave here 6:50. Which means I better get dinner NOW!

Wednesday ci mj

Thanks again for all the support and good wishes, folks.

Today:

yard cleanup

box

powerpoint for class

take vacuum to dealer

housework

(((mj)))

Just caught up on your news, mamajama.  Glad you and the family are all ok.  I live in hurricane country so I understand!   My cat has never recovered from his first 'cane evacuation - the one where the shelter wouldn't let him in and he had to ride out the storm in our Bronco...

kromer 10 CI

OK, in lab a bit late (went to late-ish movie last night)

Today I've got quite a bit I'd like to get done, so I need to focus.

MITs are
*Email about setting up computer, order keyboard, print out stretches
*1 hr researching culture techniques (working on this now)
*Progress on G's project: Get Weeder running on cluster, figure out how to extract seqs from NCBI, figure out repeat masking
*Laundry
*Ask 2 local businesses to support gospel concert w/ adds, deacon notes (will do deacon notes soon)

Other tasks:
*Start lit search of shh
*Write up fgf and nodal lit search results
*Run GSEA on all pathways
*Work on est. taxes

Scheduled: Church 6-7:30

Right now, I'm going to do work for G's project--figure out repeat masking, get Weeder running on cluster, figure out how to extract seqs.

Once that's done, I'll email about setting up computer, order keyboard, print out stretches, type up deacon notes

Then, I'll do research on culture techniques.

Update 2:45--I'm working on researching culture techniques. Here are some questions I would like to try and answer in this hour (or at least start looking into)
*Can adult tubules be cultured? For how long?
*Can tubules in culture still cycle?
*Can inhibitors be injected in vivo?
*tubule externalization?
Update 3:30--have made good progress on this reading. I've found 2 papers I'd like to read; reading one of them will finish up this MIT. I'm going to have some downtime later (at the laundromat), so I'll plan on doing the reading then. Right now, I'm going to type up deacon notes and start on lit. search for shh.

Update 5--I've made quite good progress on the shh lit. search. Still haven't typed up deacon notes, will do that this evening. Now, I need to go ask about gospel concert ads at 2 local businesses. This is terrifying me, but I promised to do it--and the worst they can do is  say no, which is the result I'm sure to get by not asking. So, off to two businesses, then to church, then I'll come home, go to laundromat to do laundry, read paper about culture while I'm waiting for laundry, come home and type up deacon notes.

kromer 10:40 CI

OK I'm very proud of myself because I asked about ads at 2 local businesses and got one of them to sponsor concert! Woohoo! Then went to church, did laundry. When I was at laundromat I ended up talked to a friend rather reading paper. So, Right now I need to tidy my room, do deacon notes and spend at least 15 min reading paper. Stop surfing internet now, self!

i have been chatting more than using CI. otoh, i haven't been chatting that much.

I'm checking in because of everyone's terrific responses to elena http://procrastinators-anonymous.org/node/2239 and fr0shus http://procrastinators-anonymous.org/node/2242 and how everyone says check-ins work. so who am i to disagree. It's working the program, not the program itself, that works.

so my plans are
(9:55am)
surfed instead - 15 min :(
workout 1 hr
quiet time 1/2 hr
work the rest of the day
and i should set some specific deliverables for today's work too.

i look to god to give me the strength to follow this plan, because it's freaking me out.

chatbox

The chatbox is awesome for checkins too.   I stopped using the chatbox because it gives the wrong impression in the office, and I'm using my journal instead to talk myself through my tasks.  But I enjoyed using the chatbox while I was there.

Journey 9 am

Good morning, yesterday was a typical Tuesday, I didn't REALLY get started until almost lunchtime but then worked well in the afternoon.  I forgot about doing the easy stuff first, as that worked well for me last week, and instead I stared at a big task most of the morning.   Well, I did have a dr. appt, which took part of the morning, but still, I have to remember that I can start with the busy work in the mornings instead of eating the frog first thing.   There's a lot to be said for eating the frog first, but my frogs seem to to taste better after marinating for a while.

Soon I have an online meeting with the network guy.  We made a lot of progress yesterday afternoon and got one system all fixed up, so it should be easy to do the same on the other two systems, so that will be a pleasant task.

I had quiet time at the gym, and stopped by the Mal-wart on the way home, so I'm off to a good start.   No todolist yet, the morning is back to back meetings so my work is all laid out for the morning.

Later!

Jo

Wednesday Vic

Thanks for your endorsement Hope.I am feeling so pathetic today. When I think it took 3 yrs to redeem a gift card instead of feeling good today, I feel pathetic. Only because I am "out of the closet" and must face the truth about myself. I can't pretend, deny these things I do. I have a whole list of 3,4,5 year tasks waiting for completion.

1. Pray for doing the next right thing. done2. Give thanks for his help. done3. Dentist appt.done for both boys and myself also called for car inspect. appt, business call, worked on cleaning downstairs, shared on oa phone meeting and gave number as sponsor, reporting here helped me stay focused., almost 1 pm now, clean room and walk =ck in later. I feel sick, I will walk after 4 when husband gets home then store later. Got up at 3 am feel tired and don't "feel" like doing anything else.  Did pretty much cleaning- 3 bathrooms, and wash, made dinner.but if feels like I barely put a dent in it all- Will walk later- it is too hot right now. I enjoy walking and listening to a phone meeting.. There is alot more I "should" do- so much paperwork, etc. If I get a chance, I may sort through things, but right now I am tired. I am grateful for what I focused on so far, staying focused is major.
