TIP: make Procrastinators Anonymous your home page
For those of us who procrastinate by randomly surfing the net, having PA be the "first stop" helps. For me, anyway, it forces me to be mindful about my day's goals via the checkin, and I'm wasting slightly less time. Sounds simple, but it's working for me, so I thought I'd share it.
Making PA the home page is pretty easy - go to it then go to either your "tools" or "preferences" menu on your browser - under the "general" or "content" menu, find the item that says "make the current page your start page". Click on OK, and you're done.

I have actually just found
I have actually just found an add-on for firefox called leech, which allows you to block time-wasting, distracting websites.
But the cool thing about it is, that it allows you to set the time, within which to block the websites. And it even has a function to divert you to another website, should you still click on one of the blocked ones. For me thats the check-in forum on this site, so I get reminded of what I wanted to do instead of getting bored browsing. And for all of us, who get tempted to switch the blocker off, (like I did with a password-encoded one), it actually forbids you access to the programm till the time is over.
Worked for a while
I actually loved this until I figured out ways to beat all that. I won't tell you about them though! Happy working!
making PA home page
I did this yesterday. It's a good idea. When I catch myself drifting, I can hit the home button at the top of the browser window to come back here.
