Phone Meeting Still Going On?

Hi Everyone,

I'm sorry if I'm asking a redundant question.  But, does anyone know if the phone meetings are still going on?  Also, I wondered if anyone could tell me how to find a sponsor in the program.

I'm new to Procrastinators Anonymous but have been in 12 step programs for many years now.  I've worked the steps with a sponsor in a different program.  I had the same sponsor for almost three years.  Procrastination came up a lot in our work together and she came up with some very useful tools.  I would love to work the 12 steps directly with procrastination issues though and get some support for this as a primary issue.

Thanks!

Sarito

re: phone meetings

I think the phone meetings have kinda dwindled away, but you are welcome to start them back up again!

We don't really have a structured program with sponsors and all, but someone is usually around in the chatbox and the forums.

Pro created the website and maintains it, and wrote the excellent materials on here.  There's some info around about setting up local meetings but I don't know if anyone ever got one started.   You might try starting one in your area!

Phone Meeting Idea

Thanks for the info.  I'm overseas now where meetings in English are rather limited.  Even for established 12 step programs.  I almost wonder if it might work to do an off-shoot from another 12-step program in terms of setting up a phone meeting to attract more participants.  For instance, a DA or BDA meeting with a focus on time-debting (aka procrastination).

Something like that.  Not quite the same as having a PA meeting, but it could maybe be a start.

I've recently been on a handful of DA phone meetings and I hear people talking a lot about some similar issues like leaving tax filing to the last minute, letting paperwork/unopened mail/bills pile up, time-debting (staying up too late watching tv, surfing the net, showing up late for things, etc.), task avoidance...

Just an idea... would be curious to know what people think.
