You can make it a beautiful day

Recycler CI 8:20pm EST

Hi Pro Buddies!

((sigh)) Just got off the phone with my sponsor [in another program]. ((sigh)) There is something on my mind that is bothering me. ((sigh)) Kind of a Serenity Prayer thing. So I talked with my sponsor about it. Normally I talk in person with my sponsor for about 30 minutes each week. Well, the last 3 weeks due to various circumstances they couldn't make it. Then after work tonight something was concerning me, and I know that I needed to talk with someone or I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight ... Oh, and the situation involves someone in yet Another of my programs (lol) so I didn't want to talk with anyone from That Program about it, because I don't want to be the equivalent of gossiping or whatever. ((argggh sigh!!!)

I have other people on my phone list that I call. Since I already talk with my sponsor once a week, during the year I try to not call them. But tonight I needed to talk with someone who knows me and understands me and knows what I am like. They were ok about me calling.

That is the most I can do tonight, so I will say the Serenity Prayer in a little bit, brush my teeth, and go to bed.

This morning I did get up and go to the gym. I'm still off my routine, but I did the stretching and ab workout.

At work throughout the day, I kept referring to and updating my project list; overall, good.

Another ramble. During the last 2 years, I got a divorce: initiaited, proceeded with, and finalized all the legal part. Then about 10 months ago, with an estate lawyer at the same firm, initiated my revised will, power of attorney, etc. Gosh darn if during the year, in addition to procrastinating I also got some emotional blocks, etc. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I finally started getting enough emotional energy. Summary: today at the attorney's office, I and they signed and completed the documents. Whew! ((collapses exhausted)). While I was there, I did apologize to them. They said it was no problem, in their office they had other wills they had drawn up as long as five years ago and no one had come in to sign those either! lol

During the afternoon, I continued to progress on other projects.

After work I got industrious on the painting project again. I've purchased the Top Coat paint color, and did A Lot of Work on it tonight, before finding out about the Issue About Which I Am Concerned, which I just talked with my sponsor about.

After talking with them, I have also gotten something to eat. That and typing all this has helped me calm down some. I think I am ready to say the Serenity Prayer, then start getting ready for bed. Serenity Prayer: God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Amen.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

CL mantra, day 3

i have to actually type this in for myself, because in the heat of the moment (now) i can't quite remember it:

seek god in my uncomfortable place, dont look for an exit.

look up. accept the peace that passes all understanding.

i am feeling a lot of stress.

Your mantra helps me, too -- thanks for sharing it! Good luck with everything! Hugs!

Calm morning today. It

Calm morning today. It feels like one of those battle scenes where the general says "it's awfully quite out there. Too quiet." I'm a little concerned about what unforseen emergencies are going to crop up. Well, I'll just have to keep my eyes and ears open and do my work in the meantime.

Today, I will:

Word and prayer for the day: Philippians 4:6-7 (the message translation)

“Don't fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” As I seek you in this uncomfortable place, help me to not avoid it, but keep my eyes on You and face it with Your grace and power. Help me to look to You and not be overwhelmed when I feel anxiety or fear.

I love this verse although I haven't thought of it in years.   I learned the American Standard version:

The Lord is at hand.  In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

I just love the phrase "peace which passeth all understanding".  Ain't it the truth!?

that peace!

"the peace that passes all understanding"

i love it too. it goes thru my mind almost daily. sometimes several times in a day.

One of my favorites too!

Yes! This is one of my favorite and most relied on scriptures - peace that passeth all understanding... it just says it all!

I love different translations - I will have to start referring more to American Standard, thanks for sharing that Journey! :-) ...the Lord is at hand! The amplified is one of my favorite because it just expands on things so well - good reason for calling it
"amplified!"

Here is the amplified translation of phil 4:6-7

6Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

7And God's peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

Scheduled today:
*Appt. 8:30-9 (done)
*Class 11-12:30 (inc. presentation)

*Go to lab 1:30-5, work on motif discovery (look through res. from grp 1, start MD on other groups, talk to Wendy)

Fun:

Now I'm going to spend 20 min on stats, then I'll work for an hour or so on improving my presentation, then I'll go to class, make presentation, try and skype with friend, make phone calls, head to lab.

Update 12:50...went to class, waiting for friend to get on skype, in the mean time I'll make the phone calls and work on stats hw.

kromer 1:35 CI

Haven't yet managed to find friend on skype.

I realize I need to submit a few things for class, so I'll do that now...should take about 15 min. Then, if friend  hasn't come on skype yet, I need to get to lab! I can look out for her while I'm in lab.

kromer 9:50 CI

Did about 3 hrs work in lab, talked to friend on skype, had dinner with brother + he hung out for a while.

Now I'm going to spend a few min. figuring out bus tickets, then I'll finish stats hw.

Journey 9:00 Update 9:30

I'm in the office today, headed for the coffee pot.   Back in the chat room in a half hour or so with my todo list for the day!

Well, I procrastinated getting coffee and now I have a conference call.  I'll multi-task thru conference call and see if I can get my todo list done.  I have milk on my desk that needs to go in the refrigerator!

so, conference call, to do list, coffee break, then chat room.

afternoon

alternate t and p.

I'm at a sort of plateau of getting things done but not making progress in recovery--I still need to relearn 'action creates motivation' 'there is magic in starting' , clem's mantra from yesterday and so on because they don't stick. And yet avoiding the hard stuff does not make the day better. The opposite in fact. Five minutes at a time I can do it.

Constance's Thursday

Had a rocky week so far. Trying to get back on track. There's so much to do

- Find 3 headers for tonight's presentation:

-- theatre of the absurd

-- naturalism

-- symbolism

Thank you chickadee for the "action creates motivation" ... I sometimes/ many times forget that this is especially true for me!
