I would like to have a meeting in Orange County, specifically Irvine, CA.  Please let me know if anyone would be interested.  I would appreciate if people with more experience with this program.  Would let me know how to really get started.  I do not know of a good location where I could hold this, and that is the problem for me.

i wish you luck with getting a meeting together. In case it doesnt work out, a fall back might be to attend our online meeting weekly P.A. 12-Step meeting in "meetings chatbox" or post with us in our daily thread. Tomorrow's is already there: Sunday 14 December 2008

Thanks.  I don't intend on having a fall-back.  Even though I would want to attend the online meeting when I can.  I'm pretty sure that all I really need is a location for the meeting.

i have never started a meeting, but often places which hold other 12 step meetings will be willing to do so for a new fellowship. I have no idea what the rent is, so you might want to see if you can start on in your home. Even one person will make a meeting. 

One idea that might be helpful in finding others locally is to announce your desire to start another fellowship during another 12 step meeting. I would not be surprised to find other procrastinators who just have not identified themselves as having this addictive/compulsive tendency are already in 12 step programs, but have no place to work on it. Most places of worship, hospitals and veterans assocations and civic buildings have missions of outreach. If there is a local university, they would be ideal for an in house meeting: most of us begin to see how our procrastination is seriously problematic by in college. Perhaps you can speak to your guidance counselor to see if the college you attend would be willing to provide space for a meeting.

That's a good idea about announcing it in another meeting.  Unfortunately the people I know in the program that would prolly have PA people in it would be best for grouping in a public location.
