Surfing the web is not a MIT  Surprised
Some small triumps so far:

  • showered, medicated, dressed, breakfast eaten.

  • had coffee and read some newspapers while out.

Now:

  •  work for 90 minutes on writing reports in chat boxth
  • take a 30 minute break maybe to walk the dog if the weeather improves or do some housework if it does not
  • check in at 2.45 pm  my time
  • setting timer now.

4.00 pm Did above but also wasted 75 minutes sufring and eating.
Trying again:

  • 90 minutes on reports
  • 30 minutes on house work
  • work in chatbox
  • check in at 6.00pm my time

Onwards in hope!

Good job! Keep plugging away at it: little bites make the meal!

I don''t know if you have used the Instant Boss tool or not, but it helps me limit my breaks and keep going. It can be downloaded off the net.

Recycler CI 5:55pm EST

Hi!

I'm getting ready to go to one of my 12-step meetings, and wanted to check in.

Last night I took a Benadryl for an allergy reaction I am having. While I slept well and got up on time, I didn't get up early enough to do an extra project before going to the gym. Anyway, showered at the gym & got ready for work. Did projects this morning, & we had a birthday cake for a coworker. Had early lunch, so could get back and cover the office while my other coworker left to drive on her vacation. Did projects in afternoon. I got all the deadline projects done, and made a list of projects for Monday. Now: saying a prayer for Pro, and going to my meeting.

Have a great night, everyone! :)

Recycler

Thank you, gals & guys, for being here! :)

Had a standing breakfast this AM with friends (different from the Thursday one) and then worked for a half-shift at my PT job. Now have about 2 hours to do work in my home office before the weekend.

Agnus really late ci today

Already knocked down 2 MITs. Last MIT: finish AP calls today. Commit food. Be on time for haircut appt. Find out time/loc of cheerleading finals. Have a plan for the weekend (feels too scary having all that free time without a plan!)

Journey 12:30 Update 2:30 5 pm

MITS 1-3 are done, 3 to go.   My email inbox is also *empty* yay!

The infernal interminable monthly meeting is at 1 pm, so I'm taking a 1/2 hour break til then.

2:30 The meeting is over, thank goodness.  small break, then MIT #4.

5 pm.  MIT #4, which was to work on the boring tedious project, is done.   Made major progress today although the end is still a long way off.

#5 is to work on my online coursework - I haven't done anything on my class this past week because I was in speech writing mode.   Making this an MIT so I will get at least some done each day.  Half an hour a day would be awesome.

#6 is an errand I MUST run on the way home, then I'm golden.

No chores tonight, it's Friday!  So this is probably checkout for me unless I need a booster shot of motivation from you guys before I leave work today.

Have a blessed weekend all!

Jo

Journey 9:45 Update 11:15 11:38

Good morning!  I'm not quite as gung ho as I was yesterday, but I'm here and it's Friday.   I've been to the gym, read email, set my mits.  Coffee break time.

Is it really 11:15.   I finally got MIT #1 done but it should not have taken 1 1/2 hours.  Taking a break anyway!  Then on to MIT #2.

MIT #2 done.  That's better.  On to #3.   I have six MITs today but they won't get done if I don't move a little faster, and I have a long boring meeting this afternoon yuck.

Good Morning Everybody

A mere 13 degrees above here in wonderful Madison, and especially hard to get started in the morning! Fortunately I had to get out the garbage and get to my 12-step meeting, so I've got some inertia behind me!

  1. Prepare conference notes
  2. Complete PT profile & get off
  3. Conference call
  4. Prepare EBR release web version
  5. Ship book
  6. Look into GRE scores
  7. A little more progress on book proposal

There: I set 'em up, now it's time to knock 'em down.

Scott

Hi ScottK! Brrr....

I feel your pain! I'm near Madison, too.... Its hard to get going when its sooooo cold and still dark outside!! But just think....come January, 13 degrees might be like a little tiny heat wave!

Set 'em Up, Knock 'em Down

What a great visualization!   I'm gonna use that from now on.

8:30am : lots going on on the site today. Poor pro! Left off MIT 1 at 2am last night, so continue today. I predict 1-2hrs left. Set timer. Use chat if i get stuck/stalled. Fasten seatbelts.

12:45 : using chatbox. mit 1 is released. had several other interruptions, most of which i should have done. Probably shd have put of 1 of them and done the release earlier. yeah. next time.

Now have to do my quiet time. Great risk of going into distraction instead. Pray HP pls hlp.

Yesterday was not a great day...I went to bed without finishing my MITs

Today's a pretty busy day:
Scheduled: seminar 11-1, seminar 3-4, youth group 6-8, party 8:30-

MITs:
*yeast transformation+miniprep
*call bank *2 (made one phone call)
*make hybrid interactome
*List of Qs for lab/30 min thinking about project (arg, I've been putting this off for days)

Other tasks
*bug SS about doc.
*email mini-parish

kromer 4:25 CI

Today was rough...lab stuff was a disaster (partly my fault, but mostly not), so it's occupied most of the day and I have to come in early tomorrow morning.

I'm going to go clean up in lab, then make a second call to the bank. Then I'll take a walk (I haven't gotten any exercise in days), go to youth group and go to party! Back after that, I'll try to do 20 min of work at least after the party.

It is snowing here. Not something that happens very often. I has been 2 years since it last snowed here, other than a few flurries. It is supposed to turn to rain by midday. So by the time the kids and I get home and could play in the snow it will be all gone. I wish they would have cancelled school today so my kids could have played in the snow.

Confession: I notice that I always do some things that weren't on my list and then leave one or two BIG things undone. It's as if things being undone and a bit out of control feels so familiar that I prefer to keep operating that way. What would it feel like to make a really small list, do everything on it, not add anything, and then reward myself? :-? ::puzzled:: I think that that is something I want to try, and that I could learn from, learn a new way of feeling comfortable about being productive in a balanced way.!

[]MIT MUTn--now settling in for an evening work session on this in a room away from the comptuer

Starting my Saturday check-in. I need to get groceries, and wash in kitchen and a load of laundry, but most important is to time binge on paper 2. I'm going to get dressed and spend about an hour getting immersed in the topic before I even think of the household round
