The reason you're seeing old content listed as "recent"...
The tool I use to split and merge threads (when moving stuff to the new forums) changes the date stamp, so things I moved appear in the boxes as new content. That will scroll off again soon and new content will again be on top.

Just wanted to bump this up for all who have been away ...
Click the Forums button at the top of any screen to see the new layout!
Remember that when threads got moved, they got what seems to be a new date, but it's actually only the date the thread was moved.
