Procrastinators Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from chronic procrastination.

Post at least one good thing about yourself

I know we're all here because we're having issues with productivity, but some things are working for us.  Post in this thread something that is working in your life, something you are proud of.

Now don't say nothing's working, because you wouldn't be here if you weren't making an effort to improve!  If you can't think of anything else, pat yourself on the back for being here and reading this post.

I'll start -

I've learned to get up early, I get up at 5 am most days and I used to be a lazy layabed.

Now your turn!

Journey

Recently lost 15 pounds and

Recently lost 15 pounds and counting...I am finally exercising 5 times per week. wohooooLaughing

One Proud Thing

I am proud of myself for finally doing the next right thing, joining Procrastinator's Anonymous.

Thank you guys for being here.

welcome!

You are in the right place: post a note on the chatbox thread if you are going to be there: people sometimes miss the chatter. I am gmt + 2, so I am often there odd hours. See you then!

Will be chatting soon

TU Elisaveth, I did some reading on previous posts.  Congrats on your "new" job!  It sounds like a GREAT move!  I hope you had a fabulous first day!

If I accidentally do not maneuver chatbox correctly at first, hang with me, I will get it.  I am looking forward to the weekend paperwork group.

another good thing about e

I am asking for what I need to be able to produce, even if it is scary.

One good thing

I used to have the habit of lurking on a number of forums.  It was fun & entertaining.  And being in on the conversations gave me the illusion of community -- without my actually doing anything.  It was a major source of procrastination.

I still do that sometimes.  But now more often I check in here, where I actually participate, have something to contribute, experience some real connection with people who know what I'm talking about, and use the forum as a tool to do less procrastinating and more getting things done.

So that's a positive change. . . thanks for being here, everyone, and making it possible.

douglas

douglas' new svelte figure

I thought you looked thinner! Way to go!

good job, Douglas!!!!

That's awesome, Douglas. Losing weight is one of the hardest things in life to do. How long have you maintained the loss?

I'm working on losing weight now. I just started last week, though, so I can't report progress yet.

Falcon's good thing

I've just been bragging on myself in the new year's resolutions thread, and I'm gonna do it here, too, because. . . I've done stomach exercises and weight lifting every single day for a month!

O.k., so it's a grand total of 10 minutes a day (including getting out my exercise mat & weights) but hey, that's 10 minutes more than I did before, so I still feel entitled to feel smug.

Now all I have to do is keep it up for the rest of the year. . .

Douglas' Good thing

For an unemployed 50 year, I don't brag much.

lol

One good thing about Douglas: He is very funny.

e's good thing

I am generous.

kaoba's good thing for today

I try to see all sides of situations, I try to get in the other person's shoes.

1 good thing

What a good idea!

I think one good thing about myself is that I love learning new things!

One Good Thing

I have taken several steps to finish goals today.

kaoba's one good thing 17 Feb 08

I do not give up. I fall and I get back up again.

today's good thing about e

I feel a bit embarrassed posting here all the time, but I find that it helps me to actively think of myself in a positive light. So the good thing about me today is that I do it, even though it embarasses me.

1 good thing about e

I am beginning to take responsbility for my actions

1 good thing about myself

I'm sensitive to others feelings.

Douglas' good thing

Regardless of how bad things get, I am almost always a joyful person.

kaoba's one good thing 13 Feb 08

When I do get going on something, I can be extremely systematic, methodical and meticulous.

elisaveth's one good thing for today

I have not left this fellowship

relationship

My relationship is working.  I feel like as long as I have that, sometimes it doesn't matter I screw up in other areas of my life, he means just that much to me.

But I still only mean sometimes :D

Nothing major sprung to

Nothing major sprung to mind, but I am quite knowledgeable about snooker and football (english soccer). And although I'm not really smart, I know that I'm not dumb. And I'm proud that I changed myself for the better in an amazing way from the age of 16 - 18.

one good thing

I am asking for help when I need it, and doing my best to accept said help gracefully and without guilt.

Become aware of resistance, and let go.

Post at least one good thing about yourself

Ah, this is harder than I thought!

I am better today than yesterday.
I am committed to my wife, six year old girl and a nine year old boy.
I taught myself how to play guitar & bass over the past 30 years or so. I share my love of music with my son who is learning how to play the drums. I just got an awesome new amp last week (a massively hot-rodded Fender Bassman) and we have jammed together every day since!

hmmm... something good about myself?

This is an interesting question. Hmmm... I have a great job and I'm really good at what I do. I eat really healthy and take care of myself. My apartment is neat and clean. I just can't seem to get my accounting, taxes, and insurance stuff done.

one good thing about another

Apparently, you all are extremely modest. So let's give compliments to each other. One wonderful thing about Lark: he has a wonderfully wry sense of absurdity. (envisioning him in Pirate's dress with ballet slippers). Pass it on!

(although it is entirely possible that Lark is a she!)

One good bump

I KNOW everyone here deserves a pat on the back for something!  If you're reading this, I hope you'll share what you're proud of -- maybe you'll even inspire others.

Falcon

e's good thing

this is harder than I thought it would be! All my tendencies are to self deprecate. Here goes... I am consistently taking better care of myself than I ever have before. I am walking, drinking water, taking my medication on time, going to the doctor and eating/cooking healthy meals. Wow!

One good thing about Falcon

Great idea, Journey!  Thanks for the opportunity to focus on the positive!

Here's my personal back-pat:  I've gotten in the habit of making a thermos of tea to take to work in the morning, rather than feeding $2 a day to the vending machine.
