Journey 9 am

Good morning - this is a work at home day for me so it will be more of a struggle to stay on task today.  But we're getting a wii!!!  I've been looking for one at a reasonable price for ages and finally found one.  It's being delivered today, so I have to be here to sign for it.  I won't play with it though!  It's a Christmas present.

This was unplanned so I don't have my notes and folders with me, but I can wing it!

DONE:
-Gym
-Read email
-Daily Planning
-talked to the guy at the gym (and thus avoided having to make a phone call)

TO DO:
-Organize email (GTD) - .5 hr.
-Read IBM red paper - 1-2 hr.
-Install s/w on another server - 3-4 hrs?
-Play with my linux install on old laptop - 1 hr.
-Dinner - 1 hr.
-Clean up Kitchen - 1 hr.
-Laundry - .5 hr.
-read yoga book - .5 hr
-Call Verizon - .5 hr.
-remember to bring camera for tomorrow's luncheon
-2 conference calls (should be 3 but I'm blowing off one of them) - 2 hr.
-1 item of mending (that mending pile keeps growing) .5 hr
(total of 13 hours so need to rethink, this is too much)
(course I can multi-task during conference calls)

journey's time scheduling

I notice that you are allotting time for the tasks you need to do: does it help you to get things done?

pro's CI - 8:45am

I finally woke up enough to wash some of the dishes - enough to allow me to have breakfast. I'm eating breakfast now. It's getting late, so I won't be able to do much cleanup - have to get to work.

Kaa - 2:49 pm

Hi !

Yesterday I didn't check in and I didn't get ANYTHING done.

Todo today :
- write article about P.

Just that. It's quite simple. Doesn't have to be perfect. Just do it now.

pro's CI - 7:45am - trying to wake up

I've been up for about a half an hour, but I'm too bleary eyed to do much but sit at the computer. I need to clean up a little in here - particularly, do dishes. I need to be more awake so I don't drop them on the floor.

elisaveth beginning

Today I got to work to find my pregnant colleague absent and possibly not coming back. Even though I must take over her responsibilities while she is gone I am energized by the opportunity to do something different and to do it well. I am flying through all her basic work and feel a great sense of accomplishment today.

For today:
meds X
bed X
water X
shower, etc. X
empty dishwasher X
plan dinner
grocery shopping
thanksgiving meal plan
button shop
watch batteries
set up swish and wipe
check on bank payment
contact on switching insurance charge to G
AAICU files
plan dinner
gift plan
TAX
PRACTICUM
orthopedist X
rheumetologist
C physical
eye exam

etc....

amazing day

It was a day in which I did not recognize myself. I was not in my own way: I just did the next thing, right then, right as it needed to be done. If I would think: now I have to do that, or write that, or remind myself of that, I wrote it down, or handled it. It was a day like a non-procrastinator would have.

Accomplished: all C's work
all S's designated tasks
doctor's appointments scheduled, visited, meds purchased, referrals made, walked to work and back - in the rain (a big deal for me) , ingredients purchased, meals planned, emails answered, old tickets followed up on, international calls made. I remember being like this when I was younger: I would not be able to accomplish anything for weeks on end and then I would create cold fusion in the basement and churn out a month's worth of work at lightspeed.

Now, does this mean that I don't have more to do? Hell no! I have TONS of these old things to do, but I am finding myself planning for them. I love Microsoft Outlook, All-recipes.com, flylady, Get it Done, and every other tool that kicks your butt around the block. I need ALL of them, because I don't have a memory anymore, and because I don't experience demand resistance with a computer beeping at me (unless it is an emotionally charged task).

There were three frogs I ate today (things I didn't want to do that I did anyway). It is feeling easier....

Big Congratulations, J!!
