Playlists

Edge and Elisaveth had a great suggestion!

My office is noisy so I keep my mp3 player nearby and listen to music when I need to concentrate.  Here is some music that I find motivating.  What do you guys listen to?

Warning: a few of these lyrics are fairly explicit.  I might be a grandmother but I still rock.

New song additions

Hi, guys.
I edited this post and added a few more songs :-)

- Hey There Delilah, Plain White Ts
- Into the Ocean, Blue October
- Song 2, Blur

Also, if you're in a more morose mood, check out Marilyn Manson's "Sweet Dreams".

Nothing diminishes anxiety faster than action - Walter Anderson

Another song

I'm listening to this right now and thought I'd add it:

- Unwritten, Natasha Bedingfield

This is one of the few songs that uplifts my spirits and makes me feel hopeful about life :-) I highly recomend listening to it, especially the words.

re: Playlists

Thanks for starting this, Journey! I'm not familiar with some of those songs, but I will be checking them out soon

If we're talking about heavy work that needs a lot of concentration, then I recommend the following artists:

- Dido
- Kristen Hersh
- Apocalyptica
- Cold Play
- Tchaikovsky
- Beethoven
- Nirvana
- Loreena Mckennitt
- Massive Attack
- Ray Charles
- Muddywater
- Any not-too-crazy songs you're not too familiar with, so you don't find yourself singing or humming along

If we're talking about light work, then that's a completely different story  will put together a list of specific songs that get rid of the office gloom tomorrow after my exam :-)

nirvana

nirvana's awesome!  I love all their music except for that one stupid song about eating mashed potatoes at grandma's house.

Nirvana

Hehe, I actually don't mind that one :-D Was conditioned to worship all things Nirvana as a kid, so even if I wanted to, I couldn't hate any of their work  Granted though, they do have a few not-quite-spot-on songs, but overall you gotta love 'em :-)
